Is your thumb getting sore from playing too much of your favorite arcade-type game on the iPad? A new joystick from ThinkGeek is now available that is simply mounted on the surface of your device. A word of caution, as noted on the product’s webpage: The JOYSTICK-IT will work with any game that features a virtual on-screen control pad of some kind. Games that use swiping, swipe-style joypads, joypads with variable on-screen locations, or complex finger based gestures will not work properly with the JOYSTICK-IT. See it in action below:
Gravitarium is a low-cost app that “combines music, art and science in one relaxing experience.” There is a version for the iPad, and another version (Gravitarium SD) that works on iPhones, iPods, and iPads. Dream Cortex has developed a series of classical music apps, each featuring music of a single composer (e.g., Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss, Mozart). They are available in a lite (free) version as well as a low-cost version with additional features (more songs and backgrounds). The developer characterizes these products as early music appreciation activities, introducing classical music in a fun and interactive way.
