Dragon Dictation

Dragon Dictation, from Nuance,  is  a voice recognition application powered by Dragon® NaturallySpeaking®.  The app allows the user to speak and instantly see  text or email messages.  The editing featureof the program provides a list of suggested words.  Watch a review of the app by clicking on the video below.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.  Dragon Dictation requires network connectivity (WiFi or 3G/EDGE).

    In response to the question on the QIAT listserv ” what are your thoughts about Dragon Dictate on the iPad”, Lynn & Debbie posted the following response on 3/30/12:

    “If you are going to go that route I would suggest using PaperPort instead. It is made by Nuance and you can dictate right on the document and then send. With Dragon Dictate you have to dictate and then copy and paste into another app to send it. We have found PaperPort to be more accurate. If you have the new iPad there is a built in voice to text dictation feature that works in any productivity app.”
