Apps for use with young children and students with disabilities

Gravitarium

Gravitarium is a low-cost app that “combines music, art and science in one relaxing experience.”    There is a version for the iPad, and another version (Gravitarium SD) that works on iPhones, iPods, and iPads.  One review of this app point out its similarities to another app called Gravilux.  You might want to check them both out!   Click here for a video review of Gravilux.  The video  below demonstrates Gravitarium.  Turn up your volume so you don’t miss the music.

Requirements:  Compatible with iPad. Requires iOS 3.2 or later

Kari Frake shared her thoughts about this app with Gwen Beyer. She said” This is Chauntel’s favorite. The dots go in swirls and is great for a child with cortical visual impairment.”

  2. I use the free app tracker. Through this I was able to get two similar apps for free: Line Art and Quantum. Another great app is PaintSparkles. And one last great drawing app with sound is Swirlicity Lite. (Line Art app does not have sound)
