Apps for use with young children and students with disabilities

ClassDojo

As described in a recent article in MindShift, ClassDojo is an app designed for mobile devices and for use on the web.  Avatars are created for each student in a class.  This, then, allows teachers to note positive and negative student behaviors as they are observed.  The teacher enters a number, based on a scale of -1 to +1, to describe the observed behavior for an individual student.  Reports can be generated for  individual students or an entire class. The program is meant to be a tool for educators and administrators, as well as students, who may respond well to the immediate and public feedback the program offers.   Go to the product website to try the app.
