Consortium on Inclusive Schooling Practices

Purpose

The Consortium on Inclusive Schooling Practices was funded to help bridge the gap between our knowledge base and the state of the practices in the area of inclusive schooling.

Outcomes

Toward this end, project goals are focused on the following outcomes:

  • To establish a change process in multiple states focused on systemic reform;

  • To translate research and policy information into implementable educational practices; and

  • To build the capacity of state and local agencies to provide inclusive educational services

Project Description

This collaborative effort among the Allegheny Singer Research Institute, San Diego State University, the University of Montana, and the National Association of State Boards of Education, is designed to build the capacity of state and local education agencies to provide inclusive educational services. The goals of the Consortium are:

(1) To establish a collaborative implementation process with multiple sites and full participation of stakeholders, a National Advisory Boards, OSEP funded projects, and consultants; (2) To translate research and policy information into implementable educational practices; and (3) to develop the capacity of SEAs and LEAs to provide inclusive educational services.
