My professional efforts and training have focused on educational services for individuals with the most severe disabilities. In that realm, I have experience in preparing teachers at the preservice level, as well as working within schools in the role of technical assistance provider and trainer. My work with individuals with severe disabilities has led to an interest and professional involvement in the area of assistive technology, an essential support in promoting the independence and communication abilities of many individuals. At the systems level, I am currently involved in systems change projects in the area of inclusion, transition, and assistive technology, and am co-director of the Consortium on Inclusive Schooling Practices, a project of national significance focused on articulating the relationship between inclusive schooling practices and systemic reform in education.
