Course Description:

This course is designed to provide an introduction to assistive technology, with an emphasis on applications that are most relevant for students with severe disabilities.

Students will learn about the range of technologies that are encompassed in the term "assistive technology" and support options ranging from "high" to "low" tech in a variety of areas. Resources available in Montana to support the identification of assistive technology needs, as well as strategies to acquire needed equipment will be highlighted. Students will be involved in activities designed to highlight planning and support strategies to effectively integrate assistive technology into meaningful activities throughout the day for students with severe disabilities.
