Standards for Assistive Technology Funding: What are the Right Criteria?

Jim Leahy from the Center on Knowledge Translation for Technology Transfer (KT4TT) and Donald Clayback from the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) are members of the KTDRR's Assistive Technology (AT) Working Group. They will discuss the issues of an expectation around evidence-based standard to determine AT product efficacy, and the impact of this standard on the transfer, use, and payment for assistive technologies designed for persons with disabilities. Recommendations from the AT Working Group's recently released white paper will also be discussed.

Interventions that Work: Employment of Cancer Survivors

Carlton Fong and Kathleen Murphy discuss the findings and implications for the systematic review: Behavioral, Psychological, Educational and Vocational Interventions to Facilitate Employment Outcomes for Cancer Survivors: A Systematic Review. Carlton Fong serves as managing editor for the Campbell Collaboration's Education Coordinating Group (ECG) and also discusses the goals of the ECG and its Disability Subgroup.

Montana Gerontology Society and the Governor’s Council Conference

The Montana Gerontology Society and the Governor’s Council on Aging has combined their annual conferences this year into one spectacular event!  The meeting will be May 12-14, 2015 at the Red Lion’s Colonial Inn in Helena. Our topic this year is “Insights into Alzheimer’s” and will include all dementias and caregiving/respite issues.
