“Transition Planning for Middle School Students with Disabilities”
Partnerships for Transition Project
Teleconference Training Event
Tuesday, December 12, 2006
1:00 – 2:30 PM

This free teleconference training event will introduce you to transition planning strategies that work for middle school students with disabilities. Trainers will also describe the Montana Council on Developmental Disabilities-funded “Partnerships for Transition Project,” an exciting collaboration between Parents, Let’s Unite for Kids (PLUK) and the Rural Institute designed to build statewide transition capacity for younger students. Although federal law no longer requires transition planning to begin at age 14, we’ll talk about why it is critical to start early and illustrate strategies that Montana schools are using with middle school students.
