An Introduction to SSA

Part 2 - Social Security Work Incentives

“An Introduction to SSA” will provide an introduction to SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) benefits, examine the impact of wages on these benefits, and review the application process for SSI. The PABSS (Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security) program coordinated by the Montanan Advocacy Program will be introduced as a statewide resource.


“Part 2 - Social Security Work Incentives”
Concerned about losing your SSA benefits and Medicaid or Medicare if you go to work??? Come to this session to learn about SSA programs which allow you try out work or return to the Medicaid or Medicare system after an unsuccessful work attempt. We will review both SSI and SSDI Work Incentives, such as: Impairment Related Work Expenses, Plan for Achieving Self Support, Blind Work Expense, Subsidy and Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA).

Presenters: Marsha Katz of the Rural Institute on Disabilities and Kathy Kuntz from the Montana Advocacy Program.

METNET is an interactive video system. This allows the audience and the presenters to see and hear one another. We will broadcast to these locations simultaneously:
